Los Angeles - Join Alliance for Women in Media Southern California (AWM SoCal) and its award-winning panel of television industry executives for Speed Mentoring, Saturday, Feb. 20 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the SAG-AFTRA Plaza, 5757 Wilshire Blvd., 7th Floor, Los Angeles, CA. A distinguished panel of mentors will be on-hand to offer one-on-one career advice, coaching, and encouragement. AWM SoCal's Speed Mentoring is a television career development event sponsored by SAG-AFTRA.
AWM SoCal is the longest established professional association dedicated to advancing women in media and entertainment. "Our goal is to empower women in media," said Samantha Brown, president, AWM SoCal. "Speed Mentoring provides attendees with valuable tools and connections that can lead to a new job in the field or help take a career path to the next level."
Modeled after the "speed dating" concept, participants will have five minutes with each mentor before moving on to the next micro-meeting. Mentees can learn about different jobs within the field of television, how these professionals got their start and how to hone important networking skills. Introductions to the right mentor can provide invaluable career guidance and help to open doors.
